GhostRunreal-world chase
How it works

From the gate
to the whistle.

A GhostRun hunt is 40 minutes of walking, watching and deciding. Here is the whole shape of it — before you spend a Saturday finding out the hard way.

Pick the ground, set the circle.

One player creates the room, stands where the game should happen and locks their position in the app. They choose a radius from 100 to 2,000 metres and share the six-character code. Everyone meets inside that circle, and the host runs the safety brief before the match starts.

02

Get a private role.

The server balances the teams and your phone reveals Hunter or Shadow privately. Do not announce it. The best moment of the night is usually the one where someone realises the person beside them has been hunting them all along.

Walk, watch, move.

Hunters get a passive radar: a compass sector and a distance band that refreshes every ten seconds, tightened for five seconds by the Sonar Ping. Shadows spend that reading on Ghost Veil, Static or a Decoy. Nobody gets a live pin, and the circle is the real game board.

Tag by QR, not touch.

A capture is confirmed when the hunter scans the shadow's rotating code close enough for the server to accept it. You never need to touch anyone. If something feels wrong, stop and tell the host — the game ends before safety is negotiated.

Take the whistle together.

The clock ends the match. Everyone walks back to the meeting point. Results, captures, the timeline and the best escape land in the app. No loot boxes, no streak pressure, no “play again” countdown while you are still catching your breath.

What to bring

Pack light.
Think ahead.

No props, no costumes, no special equipment. The best kit is a charged phone and a friend who will not leave you behind.

A charged phone

The map, your role and the safety exit live there. A power bank is a good idea if your phone is old.

Shoes for grass

You will move on paths, lawns and wet ground. Leave the slippery fashion shoes at home.

Water

Running outdoors is thirstier than it looks. Carry a bottle; not every play area has a drinking point inside the circle.

After the whistle

The story is the reward.

You see the timeline, the best escape, the rescue that mattered and your own decisions. Results are a clean summary, not a casino.

Before you book

Read the safety page.

It covers roads, gates, weather, under-18s and what happens if you want to stop. If anything is unclear, ask us before you join.

The app

Android-first.

GhostRun runs on Android at launch. Join the waitlist and we will write when the first public hunts open. No fake countdown.
